RA to Hire Church Administrator
Redford Aldersgate United Methodist Church (RAUMC), a growing, two-campus church with over 250 in worship and a budget of over $400,000, seeks a full-time Church Administrator. Church campus locations are in Redford Township and the Brightmoor community in Detroit. The Church Administrator will work hand in hand with the Lead Pastor to implement the mission and vision of the church.
The Church Administrator will operate as the Chief Operating Officer for the full ministries of RAUMC. This will include the day-to-day operations, communications, data management and the coordination of the Sunday morning worship experiences. It also includes supervision of building, maintenance and security staff, as well as all ministry volunteers. This person will maintain the church calendar and the usage of the building.
Communications responsibilities include but are not limited to management of phone calls, emails and texts, and the pastoral care situations that arise daily. It also includes coordination of all communications (newsletter, email lists, text messaging, social media and website) for RAUMC. Crucial to the success of Church communication is accurate and timely maintenance of the church database.
Operational responsibilities for Sunday worship experience include the production of the bulletin and announcements as well as coordinating with staff and ministry team leaders to ensure full staff and volunteer coverage for all worship celebrations.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Love God and have strong commitment to Christ and His Kingdom.
2. Love and work well with people of different ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, abilities, and socio-economic backgrounds.
3. Be a self-starter, adept at autonomous problem solving with an awareness of when and how to request direction as needed.
4. Be a detail-oriented administrator.
5. Be a team leader and participant in the vision of the church.
6. Have a keen awareness of and ability to discern priorities, as defined by the Lead Pastor, Campus Pastor, parishioners and community.
7. Be able to work with current volunteers as well as recruit and train additional servant leaders.
8. Possess excellent time- and project-management skills.
9. Be proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and database management.
10. Be aware of, and have a willingness to learn technologies currently utilized, in addition to new systems as they become available.
11. Create and maintain a variety of management systems. Knowledge of Church Windows program a plus.
12. Have the ability and willingness to grow and develop professionally in order to meet the needs of a visionary community of faith.
