On Saturday, October 5, over 300 United Methodists came to work in Brightmoor. People worked in our church, on the church garden and grounds, as well as in the neighborhood with other neighborhood groups. Thank you to Rhonda and all of our Redford Aldersgate folks that came out to work or serve lunch or offer hospitality. Overall, Hands4Detroit had 1,700 volunteers working in the city that day – what a great day!
Trunk or Treat October 27, 2013
Who can decorate the trunk of their car in the most creative way? How about the spookiest? All are welcome to give it a shot! We need people to bring their cars on Sunday October 27th from 5 – 7 pm so our neighborhood kids can “trunk or treat” safely through our parking lot. We would love to fill our south lot with the Halloween spirit! If you would be willing to decorate your trunk and hand out candy, please sign up in the Narthex, or let Bridget Nelson or Katy Stokes know. It will be a really fun night!
Hands 4 Detroit October 5
All hands are welcome!
Come serve in the city in one of two ways on Saturday October 5:
Help host and work alongside about 200 volunteers coming to work at/around our Brightmoor campus – be there by 9 am.
OR
Go with Katy Stokes to work in the kitchen at Cass Social Services – meet at church at 8 am to carpool.
Find a way to plug into this great city-wide event!

Sermon September 8, 2013 What’s With All These Rocks?
Today we gathered with our 2 campuses and New Beginnings UMC on the north end of Redford for our Homecoming Sunday! It was a beautiful day – great singing and preaching and we had a really fun BBQ outside afterwards. Thanks to everyone that helped out!
