Today is the 3rd Sunday of Lent and Pastor Frederick preached the message.  The scripture is John 2:13-25.

Today is the second Sunday of Lent, and Pastor Jeff’s message talks about what it means to take up your cross and follow Jesus.

Pastor Jeff was back in the pulpit today for the first Sunday of Lent.  Today’s message was about baptism and ended with an opportunity to come up and remember your baptism by having a cross traced on your forehead with water.  During this time of remembrance we had a wonderful rendition of “Wade in the Water” by Pastor Frederick.

Rev Bill Ritter is the Executive Director of the Methodist Union, our district mission -equipping agency.  He was the Senior Pastor of Birmingham First UMC when Pastor Jeff started there in 2003.  We are so grateful he could join us to bring the message this morning while Pastor Jeff recovers from his trip home from Haiti last night.
