Dear friends,
I have good news to report. We have made an offer to a Campus Pastor for our Brightmoor Campus. There are a few details that need to be worked out before I can announce it formally but I just wanted you to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
What I can tell you is that I believe in my heart of hearts that this individual will help us move into fruitful ministry in some pretty exciting ways. After a year of challenges I believe we are ready to reengage. So what are our hopes for the Brightmoor Campus?
1. Become a relationship center for the community. As people of faith we know that no transformation happens without relationships. We will build a place where people’s names are known, stories are heard and gifts affirmed. In relationships we understand that we are one!
2. Build the Body of Christ. While direct service is important, it is not the end….it is the beginning. Everything we do is done with the hope that it might nudge someone closer to the transforming grace found only in the community of faith. We will never be shy about saying, “Won’t you join us for worship….”
3. Become a destination of hope. People of goodwill from all over Southeast Michigan are searching for ways to be involved in the building up of Detroit. We will provide a place for hands on, neighborhood based service for works groups.
4. Have a great story to tell. The faith is spread by the telling of our stories. It is our hope that we will see the Kingdom of God in our work and life together. It will be a story that will need to be heard.
Keep praying for the person God is sending. We are almost there…..
With a grateful heart,
Pastor Jeff
